Integrated manpower register to be set up in Oman
MUSCAT, July 28, 2015
Singapore-based CrimsonLogic, a provider of e-government solutions and services, has won a deal for the design and implementation of a National Integrated Manpower Register (NIMR) project in Oman, according to a report.
It was awarded by Oman’s Public Authority for Manpower Register (PAMR) and Informational Technology Authority (ITA), said the Oman Daily Observer report.
The NIMR will be an electronic bridge that will link relevant job opportunities in the private and public sectors to citizens, as part of Oman’s digital strategy, it said quoting a report published the Singaporean media.
The new register project will facilitate effective nomination and matching of employment seekers to job providers.
“With the NIMR system, we can collaborate with the other government agencies, military, security and private sector responsible for manpower, to aggregate job opportunities to make employment information readily accessible to the Omani citizens,” Dr Younis bin Khalfan Al Akhzami, chief executive officer of PAMR, was quoted as saying.
The system, which is expected to be completed by the later half of the next year, will also establish clearer processes, improved visibility and transparency to Oman’s aggregated manpower database, said the statement.
With up-to-date data, PAMR will be able to monitor job market trends, and assist their stakeholders to roll out relevant education and training programmes for Omani citizens to boost their skill set, productivity and marketability, it added.
