GPIC wins top human resources award

Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) recently received the Human Resource Excellence Certification, a standard which assists managers improve the performance of their organisations through developing excellence in human resource management and development.  

The certification was received by GPIC president Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery who dedicated it the company’s  board of directors in recognition for their support towards developing human resources, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

GPIC is the first organisation in Bahrain and the GCC to get this prestigious certification.

The board of directors expressed happiness at the achievement, which, it said, confirms their approach under the chairmanship of Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa.

They said the chairman pays great attention to the development of human resources, an important criterion for success and excellence, adding that they would continue to give all attention to providing more training for company cadres to ensure they continue to work with high efficiency and develop excellent professional safety and other standards to achieve set goals.

The board of directors appreciated the role of Dr Jawahery and the executive management and said they were keen to implement the strategies set by the board as well as working hard to achieve the highest professional standards.

In a statement, Dr Jawahery thanked the chairman and the board of directors for their support in helping the company achieve excellence and said the award was a result of that support.

He expressed the hope that the achievement is part of a string of successes witnessed by the company at all levels.

Dr Jawahery said the board of directors constantly works with the management to support employees as they are the real wealth, and constantly seek to provide all opportunities to develop the employees by providing them with required skills as well as educational and training opportunities.

He said the training allowed employees to change for the better and also allows them to develop their knowledge, abilities and skills to prepare them to meet the requirements of their jobs and develop their technical and mental skills.

The certification consists of two parts – best practice affiliate (self assessed) and gold standard of excellence (audited) and allows any organisation to build and grow relevant knowledge skills, systems and procedures.

GPIC started the accreditation process with an initial preliminary audit in January and a final certification audit in May, resulting in it being awarded the gold standard of excellence. – TradeArabia News Service
