Skills boost for Bahrain’s government employees

MANAMA, February 18, 2015

A new programme has been introduced to boost the professional skills of Bahraini government employees.

Launched by the Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister (FDPM) yesterday, the programme caters to high-calibre employees working in the public sector, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

It aims to enhance their skills and abilities and conforms with the commitment of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, to continue bolstering national skills and capabilities to support the kingdom's mission of sustainable development.

Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the director general of the FDPM office, said that successful candidates will have a unique opportunity to take part in preparing research reports and discussion papers, as well as various strategic programmes and initiatives.

This will boost their performance once they return to their posts.

He asserted that through direct interaction with his staff, trainees would get to grips with sophisticated methods enabling them to conduct researches and decipher information more effectively.

The trainees will also receive instructions at the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration, focusing on specific areas of research and data analysis, he said. - TradeArabia News Service
