Saudi in bid to resolve domestic help crisis
RIYADH, January 13, 2015
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Labour will enlist consulting firms to resolve issues with the recruitment of domestic help from Indonesia and the Philippines, a report said.
The ministry is seeking assistance from a number of national and international firms in recruiting household help, added the Arab News report.
Stanford Training & Consulting of Stanford University in the US is the latest in the list; the report quoted a ministry source.
The ministry is facing difficulties in recruiting domestic help due to a number of reasons including the ministry’s poor performance and some social attitudes that have had negative impacts on the governments of labour exporting countries, the source was quoted as saying in the report.
