GMC ties up with Dubai luxury hotel
Dubai, January 5, 2014
Global Management Challenge (GMC) UAE, the world’s largest strategy and management competition, has entered into a partnership with The H Hotel, one of Dubai’s most luxurious hotels.
“We are excited to partner with the Global Management Challenge UAE and look forward to new opportunities that this partnership will bring about,” said Guy Bertaud, general manager, The H Hotel. “We are proud to be a part of a platform that encourages knowledge and drives entrepreneurship skills amongst youth and corporates.”
The Challenge, which begins on January 12, consists of a management simulation in which teams of three to five people, comprising university students and corporates, are given complete control of a virtual company with the objective of obtaining the highest investment performance for its shareholders.
Competitors analyse financial and economic indicators, expand their views on corporate strategy, interact with functional areas of a company and gain an in-depth understanding of the market conditions in which their companies compete.
“We are very excited about this partnership between Global Management Challenge UAE and The H Hotel and look forward to working together,” said Mian Muneer Uddin, managing partner of Beaufort Associates, the consulting and advisory services firm that brought the Global Management Challenge to the UAE.
The Challenge is aligned with the UAE’s vision of Emiratisation and encourages professionals and student to participate.
The winning team, or ‘UAE Champion’, will then compete with counterparts from several countries for the world title, to be held in Sochi, Russia in April.
Global Management Challenge is the largest strategy and management competition in the world with participation from more than 30 countries. In excess of 500,000 university students and company managers have participated in the competition over the past 30 years. – TradeArabia News Service
