Batelco, Bahrain’s leading telecom operator, received first place in the Excellence Awards at the fifth annual GCC HR Excellence Awards 2013 organised by the business information group Naseba.

This is the third year that Batelco HR team has been recognised.

The award, which was given in recognition for Batelco’s initiatives in employee engagement, took into consideration a number of factors but particularly a transition and realignment programme conducted primarily to create a more harmonious working culture.

The programme included a series of classroom based sessions and workshops. In addition to the training and development initiatives, employee recognition and corporate philanthropy were key factors in Batelco’s selection.

Batelco Bahrain CEO Rashid Abdulla said that the Batelco HR team had done an outstanding job with the programme which supported the ongoing development of Batelco staff members and contributed to Batelco’s successful delivery of its aims.

“This award recognises the exceptional achievements of the Training and Development Team in delivering such an innovative programme during 2012. Their efforts are very much appreciated by Batelco’s executive management team,” he said.
