Batelco backs Crown Prince scholarship drive

Manama, August 6, 2011

Batelco, Bahrain’s leading telecom service provider, recently hosted a video conference with representatives from the Crown Prince International Scholarship Programme (CPISP) as well as a number of scholarship recipients.

The CPISP Action Learning Programme, which includes the participation of Batelco, Alba, and Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, is based on the concept of action learning, which is an educational process where participants study their own actions and experiences to improve performance.

The summer learning initiative teams up CPISP recipients with delegates from major companies in Bahrain to work on a real business challenge.

The video conference on the topic of complexity theory was held with Professor Paul Cilliers, Centre for Studies in Complexity, Department of Philosophy, and University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.

Batelco Group general manager Media Relations Ahmed Al Janahi said that Batelco continues to invest in education as it plays such a crucial role in the future of any country.

“In the case of the CPISP students, who have all achieved outstanding results from their schools, Batelco is delighted to witness these high flyers as they blossom thanks to the opportunities they are given to study at leading international universities,” Al Janahi said.

“We are also looking forward to reviewing the work carried out by the Action Learning students who will be running different projects at Batelco,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
