Eiast in Bahrain research tie-up

The Emirates Institution for Advanced Science & Technology (Eiast) has signed a MoU with the Central Informatics Organization (CIO) in Bahrain, to work together in applied research and industrial innovation.

As per the MoU, Eiast and the Central Informatics Organization will pursue joint technological research activities related to advanced science & technology, and applied research and development projects.

The MoU will play a significant role to enhance the cooperation between the staff in the fields of mutual interest such as advanced technology products. It will promote mutual assistance in improving research techniques and methods, and exchange of researches and technical expertise.

“Eiast seeks to establish regional and international cooperative relations and joint ventures with leading institutions to provide solutions that strengthen the march of human civilisation and human advancement. Our partnership with the Bahrain’s Central Informatics Organization marks the strong co-operation in the region by Eiast to promote the application of our space services,” stated Salem Al Marri, head of Space Programme Department at Eiast.

“CIO is the main source of information in the Kingdom, and we are keen to benefit from advanced technologies to support the concerned authorities in Bahrain. Eiast is one of the premier institutions in space research and advanced technology in the region, and the partnership is a perfect fit for CIO, a leading institution globally in geographic information systems and remote sensing,” added Dr Khalid Abdulrahman Al-Haidan, director of GIS Directorate, Central Informatics Organization.-TradeArabia News Service
