40pc of Esmod Dubai students are Emiratis

Dubai, May 29, 2011

Esmod Dubai, the French school dedicated to fashion in the region, has revealed that up to 40 per cent of students currently enrolled in the school are Emiratis.

Esmod also revealed that a high percentage of these Emirati students are females, which is a reflection of the country’s progressive outlook and the changing role of women in society.

“Every year we see a steady increase in the number of young Emiratis enrolling at Esmod, and it is equally encouraging to see their creativity and talent in fashion design. We have been specially focusing on nurturing local talent as we believe they have the potential to become globally acclaimed designers,” said Tamara Hostal, director and founder of Esmod Dubai.

“Another heartening fact is that many of our Emirati students have recently launched their own brands, attracted the attention of fashion buyers in the Middle East and are already selling their collections in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar in multi-brand stores. This goes to show that women in the UAE are continuously exploring new career options and are willing to optimally use their creativity and skills in challenging yet highly rewarding professions like fashion designing,” she added.

Esmod Dubai regularly organises various fashion oriented events and lectures in the UAE in collaboration with world-renowned fashion designers to provide dedicated avenues for promising designers in the country to showcase their latest creations.

Esmod Dubai has revealed that it will be inviting 5th Sense, the French leader in perfume consultancy, following which a one month Perfume Discovery session will be provided starting July 3. Participants in this course will use an Olfactorium (Compact version of a perfumer palette) to learn the basics of perfume creation, and create their own fragrance.-TradeArabia News Service
