Amman, January 31, 2011

Umniah, a leading telecom service provider in Jordan, and the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-Knowledge) have launched the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and Umniah MBA scholarship initiative.

According to the agreement, the two parties will work together in selecting distinguished students from TAG-Knowledge, especially those who benefit from the Needy Student Endowment Fund and will be granted scholarships to study MBA at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business (TAGSB).

TAGSB provides an advanced academic curriculum that matches the one offered by elite business administration colleges in the world such as Harvard University and Canisius College and others, a statement said.

'Our commitment to support youth particularly students is our mission to build a knowledge-based society which can encounter future challenges that is why we are focusing on supporting this initiative,” said Ihab Hinnawi, CEO of Umniah.

Prof Hisham Gharaibeh, dean of TAGSB, said:'Investment in education, spread of knowledge and capacity building is the right way to develop the society through enriching it with qualified human resources which are the pillar of development. I would like also to thank Umniah for their support for TAG-Knowledge activities and its role in supporting local community.'

The Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) granted the TAGSB a five-year accreditation to its MBA programme with concentrations in marketing, accounting, management, banking and finance, quality management and human resources management.
