Manama, December 14, 2010
Bahrain-based T’azur Company, a regional Takaful company, will be the featured sponsor of an annual Quran memorization contest.
The contest will be held by Wahat Al Quran in Al Eslah Society in January 2011.
“T’azur continuously looks for various means to promote community and spiritual values, therefore we are proud to have the opportunity to partner with Al Eslah Society in sponsoring the Quran Memorization Contest,” said Sheikh Dr Abdulaziz Bin Naif Al Orayer, t’azur’s chairman of the board of directors.
“T’azur is committed to support the Islamic activities and encourage the development of the young generation in their noble undertaking of memorizing the Quran,” he added.
Contestants ranging from grades 1 - 12 from schools all across Bahrain compete at the annual contest for the meticulous rendition of the Quran and to have the chance to win prizes. The event draws participation of contestants who are chosen at a qualifying ceremony presided over by a jury panel consisting of local Islamic scholars.
“The 13th edition of the contest last year attracted 200 participants including both boys and girls from over 60 schools,” said Sheikh Abdul-Rahman Al-Moosa, chairman of Wahat Al-Qur’an.
To qualify all contestants must be able to recite the entire chapters chosen from the Quran from memory. Participation in the competition is open for Bahrainis and expatriates. – TradeArabia News Service
