Manama, November 9, 2010
Twelve Bahraini students have completed a mentorship programme in Sophia Antipolis, France.
The programme, fully sponsored by Kuwait Finance House-Bahrain (KFH-Bahrain), is a joint initiative of KFH - Bahrain, Young Arab Leaders Organization (YAL) and InJAz Bahrain.
The Sophia Antipolis Mentorship Programme hosts a select group of Bahraini students in an intensive leadership training course at Sophia Antipolis and Technology Park located in the south of France. The students are selected based on their academic excellence and distinctive scholastic track records.
The main objective of the annual mentorship programme was for Bahraini students to gain in-depth insight into a leading entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sophia Antipolis. The location is considered to be one of the most innovative, entrepreneurial and fast paced business environments in the world and provides students with an experience that can have a long term impact on them, said a statement.
Abdulhakeem Alkhayyat, managing Director and CEO of KFH – Bahrain, greeted the students at the bank’s headquarters in the Bahrain World Trade Center, and stated: “These young Bahraini high achievers constitute one of the most important pillars of the society and we at KFH - Bahrain look towards those who gained this experience with great expectations.”
The meeting gathered the 12 young Bahrainis and their representative mentors from both KFH - Bahrain and Tamkeen at a debrief session which focused on the comprehensive programme that connected the students to the most influential network of entrepreneurs in Europe.
Dr Philippe Mariani, senior manager at KFH - Bahrain, and coordinator of the programme, added: “The experience that these students gained was exceptional and will contribute highly towards influencing them into thinking in new and entrepreneurial ways. The knowledge they would have obtained is invaluable from one of the utmost innovative environments in the world.” – TradeArabia News Service
