Dubai, October 26, 2010
The UAE is the most conducive country in the region to innovative human resource (HR) policies, followed by Saudi Arabia, according to a recent study.
About 60 percent of the interviewed organizations in the UAE and 25 percent of the firms in Saudi Arabia adopt forward thinking HR policies, said the survey conducted by IIR Middle East.
Open-door policy and organisational culture were the two most important elements for a healthy working atmosphere, it found.
In organizational culture, employee engagement and transparency were essential for employees to perform better, it said.
Validating this point, Chester Elton, leadership and HR guru, said: “Employee engage-ment in this economy is driven first and foremost by employees believing they have opportunities to grow and do important work. Recognition accelerates business performance when done right.”
Elton is a speaker at the seventh annual Middle East HR Summit which opened in Dubai on October 24. The summit runs till October 28 at The Mövenpick Hotel, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai.
The survey focused on ‘Emiratization’ and found that all surveyed companies are of the opinion that hiring local talent adds value and local perspective. – TradeArabia News Service
