Top executives to study leadership challenges
Manama, October 25, 2010
Leading executives from some of the world's top companies, including three from Bahrain, will address top business leaders from the kingdom, the region and elsewhere during an event on Wednesday.
The keynote speakers - among them Gulf Air chief executive officer Samer Majali, Bahrain Airport Company chief executive officer (CEO) Gordon Dewar and Batelco group CEO Peter Kaliaropoulos, will present their views during the Leading Change Conference 2010, at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, Hotel and Spa.
Being organised by UK-based MSB Consultancy, an international people development and culture change specialist, the event will give business leaders an opportunity to become aware of 'best practice' insights into the ways in which organisations are facing up to the challenge of leading their teams and empowering their people to make the right business decisions for their stakeholders - customers, employees, shareholders or governments.
Company joint managing director Don Porter said with a range of regional and international speakers from blue-chip organisations, MSB is confident the conference will provide participants a unique opportunity to build knowledge, share insights and to network with speakers from diverse business sectors.
MSB Consultancy is to set up its regional headquarters in Bahrain.
'Following the recent global financial crisis, companies across the world have to re-evaluate and redefine the way in which they do business,' Porter told our sister newspaper Gulf Daily News (GDN).
'The conference will offer insights from influential business leaders into how they have developed and improved business critical operations such as customer service, training and research in order to improve business performance.'
Joint managing director Brian Hamill said they were thrilled to be able to provide a platform, which will allow Bahrain's decision-makers to come together and share their knowledge and skills.
'We deliberately designed the programme to draw together innovators who specialise within key local industries such as financial services and transport.
'All of our speakers will give delegates exciting insights into how global players are transforming their businesses through leading organisational change and we look forward to hearing the opinions of Bahrain's key industry leaders.'
He said the conference, which will be opened by British Ambassador Jamie Bowden, will also feature keynote speeches from Emirates Airline cabin crew training senior vice-president Catherine Baird, Lancaster University pro-vice chancellor Prof Trevor McMillan and Barclays Wealth CEO Andrew Tinney.
The day-long event, which begins at 10am, concludes at 6.30pm.-TradeArabia News Service
