100 experts for management summit
Amman, September 22, 2010
More than 100 participants from 40 countries will take part in an annual conference of management consulting firms beginning in Amman tomorrow (September 23).
The three-day International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) 2010 will be held under the patronage of Jordan’s Minister of Public Sector Development and Minister of State for Mega-Projects, Imad Fakhoury.
Participants will discuss the global financial situation and the extent to which it affects the consulting management sector, a statement said.
“ICMCI is today standing at the threshold of challenging times. The profession of management consulting is coming of age and there is a growing need for knowledge, content, certifications, accreditations and services for the vast numbers of consultants across the world,” Aneeta Madhok, chairperson of ICMCI.
“There is also the growing awareness of corporations, governments and civil society about the significant role that management consultants can play in shaping the world towards an economically, socially and ecologically sustainable future. At ICMCI, we are aligning ourselves with these times and carrying forward the legacy for the future,” she added.
Dr Hamdallah Mubarak, chairman of the board of directors of IMC-Jordan, a private not-for-profit association, said that “hosting the ICMCI conference in Jordan reflects the progress the Kingdom has achieved over the past years in the consulting sector.”
“This conference comes at a time when the economic situation in the whole world is still laying under the impact of the economic crisis. As consultants, we are required to unify our efforts to mold up strategies which help institutions overcome this critical stage,” he added.
The event is hosted by the Institute of Management Consultants and Trainers IMC – Jordan in coordination with ICMCI. IMC – Jordan is the only ICMCI member in the Mena region, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
