Etisalat Academy opens HR summit

Etisalat Academy, a leading telecom and business training solutions provider, has opened its ninth Middle East Human Resources Conference and Expo, where over 500 experts will discuss proactive HR strategies and effective leadership.
The two-day summit, which opened today (May 5), is taking place at Atlantis, The Palm Jumeirah in Dubai.
The conference is an annual event that is organized by the Etisalat Academy and is sponsored by Etisalat, Abu Dhabi Police, and the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.
“The significant topics this conference will discuss emphasizes its importance - including developing organizational work, as well as the plans and strategies which help in developing the employee performance and utilizing their capacities to support the economic and social growth process,” said Dr Abdul Rahman Al Awar, director general of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, who inaugurated the event.
“The rapid changes taking place in the world require us to develop our plans and strategies in order to cope with the current global circumstances. Therefore we must increase our efforts and capabilities, strengthen our training systems and identify the concepts and strategies for managing and developing our human resources,” he added.
David Brennan, the general manager of the Etisalat Academy said: “Management of human resources has changed over the past years due to increasing employment legislation, education issues, employee awareness, engagement and retention, and changes in demographics.”
“Thus HR managers and business leaders need to find a strategy, which addresses issues of stability and change, to enable effective leadership of staff,” he added.
“This is why we have invited some of the most prominent speakers on HR management to share international best practice and discuss the impact of proactive HR on the organizational success.”
