Ghedex summit focus on training, Omanisation

Challenges of education, training and Omanisation will be the focus at a conference to be held alongside Ghedex, an upcoming national higher education event in Muscat.

The 11th edition of Ghedex will hold its inaugural conference under the theme “Thinking differently about education: skills, training and nationalisation for the future of Oman” on April 21 and 22 at the Golden Tulip Hotel.

The exhibition Ghedex will be held from April 20 to 22 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.

“The Ghedex conference is organised to boost and strengthen Oman’s tertiary and further education system and will be a unique platform that will help identify skill and training requirements and determine the best path to future productivity, participation and social inclusion,” said Sherwin Sevillena, senior manager – research and development and conference manager of Oman International Trade and Exhibitions (OITE), the event organiser.

“High level speakers from Oman and the region will be attending this conference to shed light on the trends and challenges facing the tertiary education and the necessary skills that shape the future of the industry,” he added.

Ghedex conference will be a special platform for local, regional and international professionals with an interest in education, training and skill development to meet, network, share their experiences and expertise and debate issues in order to stimulate change in Oman’s education and working environment.

\Major preparations for this inaugural event are now underway with the support of various organisations and professionals involved in local and international tertiary education, training, private and public sectors, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
