Adnec in big Emiratisation move

Abu Dhabi, February 7, 2010

Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec) has announced that it has successfully recruited three UAE nationals at last week’s Tawdheef recruitment fair and shortlisted more than 100 Emiratis for upcoming interviews.

The recruitment demonstrates Adnec's strong commitment to Emiratization and support for initiatives undertaken by the Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council, said a top official.

The newly appointed Adnec employees will assume key positions in the marketing, visitor relations and venue operations departments at Adnec, on completing recruitment formalities and comprehensive induction training in the coming weeks.

At Tawdheef, Adnec has been promoting career opportunities in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry, besides accepting CVs, conducting onsite interviews and presentations, screening candidates, and organizing a series of exciting competitions with attractive prizes including iPhones and iPods being on offer to the winners.

Ali Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Adnec managing director, said: “Under the directives of Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, chairman of Adnec, a continued focus on promoting Emiratization is at the heart of our business operations nationally and globally.'

'This is aimed at developing distinguished leaders within the rapidly growing MICE industry. The offers of employment we have made to the selected UAE Nationals at the show further demonstrates our determination and commitment to growing our National workforce.'

UAE Nationals have already made a stellar contribution to Adnec’s success and I am very confident that the new talent we have identified at Tawdheef will also play a key role in Adnec’s growth in the coming years.”

“I would like to welcome our new employees to the Adnec family and wish them a long and fruitful career with us. I would also like to place on record our thanks to the Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council, under whose stewardship Tawdheef  is being staged; the event has provided a wonderful opportunity to highlight the excellent career prospects available at Adnec,' said Saeed Al Shamisi, Adnec’s Emiratization manager.

One of the new employees recruited by Adnec at Tawdheef will report to Adnec’s head of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Al Jeaidi.

Expressing his satisfaction at the expansion of his team, Al Jeaidi said: 'I am extremely pleased that we have had such a significant base of potential candidates from which we have been able to choose the best. Adnec’s presence at Tawdheef proved a major attraction, with the company welcoming several hundred UAE nationals and expatriates at our stand.'

'Adnec has moved swiftly to close these new appointments during the event, showing that we are firmly committed to maximising the right opportunities,' he observed.

Adnec has already achieved 30 per cent nationalization among positions identified as being suitable for nationals within the company. The company aims to increase this to 35 per cent by the end of the year, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
