$24m expansion plan for Bahrain institute

A BD9 million ($23.8 million) expansion plan for Bahrain Training Institute (BTI) is underway, it has been announced.

Artist impressions and documents for the expansion project have been completed by the Works Ministry.

The project has two phases. The first phase includes the construction of an academic building of three floors on 16,170 square metre land at a cost of BD6m. It will have 45 classes and 33 laboratories for civil, mechanical and electronic engineering.

The second phase includes the construction of a BD3 million information technology building comprising of three storeys and built on 5769 sqm land.

Ministry construction projects head Mona Al Moutawa said the project was one of her department's 37 ventures.

'These projects together will cost more than BD97 million,' she said.-TradeArabia News Service
