BIHR boss wins top US educator award

Manama, August 18, 2009

Bahrain Institute of Hospitality and Retail (BIHR) chairman Qutub Dadabai has been named this year’s Outstanding Educator (International) by US-based American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI).

Dadabai received the ‘Lamp of Knowledge Award’ in recognition of his extraordinary commitment to advancing the quality of professionalism and education in the hospitality industry, a statement said.

“The pursuit of excellence is the cornerstone of our success at BIHR and I wish to share this honour with my management and staff, whose diligence and dedication have taken BIHR to award-winning heights in the hospitality and retail education space not just in Bahrain but the entire Middle East region and beyond,” said Dadabai at the AHLEI Stars of the Industry Awards luncheon summit held in Chicago, US.

“It is, indeed, a proud moment not only for BIHR but for Bahrain to be recognised from among 120 countries and 1,800 AHLEI licensees worldwide as the leading hospitality education and training institution,” he added.

AHLEI president Robert Steele applauded BIHR for being AHLEI’s largest Middle East partner and hospitality education programme (HEP) master licensee for Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, putting Bahrain on the hospitality and retail education map of the world. – TradeArabia News Service
