MBRE launches young entrepreneurs contest

Dubai, March 30, 2009

The Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders (MBRE) has announced the launch of the 5th edition of the ‘Young Entrepreneur Competition (YEC)’.

The event, which will run from April 1 to 4 at the Dubai Mall, is aimed at creating a simple entrepreneurial environment for UAE high school students to compete in a 'real life' business scenario and inspire them to become leading entrepreneurs in the future.

The participating students from governmental and private high schools across the emirates will have the chance to learn the basics and strategies needed to build a successful business model in a heavily competitive environment.

“In this year’s edition, we are looking for well planned business ideas, creative and innovative products, and strategically demonstrated marketing tactics which will all be major factors in selecting the winner of the whole competition,” said Abdul Baset Al Janahi, chief of MBRE.

This year’s edition will host various activities where students will plan, develop and sell their own products and ideas in circumstances which are close to the real business world.

“The experience one gains by working in a real-life business environment is invaluable and will help students to clearly focus their goals and make career-defining choices,” stated Jim Badour, chief of Emaar Malls Group.

'High School years are considered essential to every student in his journey to achieve huge success in the future,' added Al Janahi.-TradeArabia News Service
