Bloom in Brighton College tieup
Abu Dhabi, March 21, 2009
Bloom, the community-oriented property developer based in Abu Dhabi has signed a partnership agreement with Brighton College, oldest independent school in Sussex, to set up its campus in the UAE capital.
The London Times ranked Brighton College as a top of the range school and credits its success to a sound balance between academic and extra-curricular activities, which are the requirements of a first class education.
Graduating Brighton pupils are regularly offered places at prestigious universities such as Oxford and Cambridge, it said.
According to Daily Telegraph, the school had "The best A-level grades of any co-educational school in England," in 2008.
Committed to bringing social infrastructure to its developments, bloom hinted towards this strategic partnership at its Treble Sports JV announcement, when it mentioned that sports and cultural entertainment was just the tip of the iceberg to its larger scale mission for a unique lifestyle in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Hani Shammah, Bloom CEO, remarked, “Brighton College possesses all the unique and competitive qualities in an educational institution that bloom believes will play its role in delivering the lifestyle choice that so many families seek when relocating to this progressive and stable capital city.”
Lord Robert Skidelsky, member of the House of Lords and chairman of the Brighton College board of governors, said, “This initiative is a wonderful opportunity and has been much anticipated by everyone at Brighton College. It is further evidence of the forward-thinking ethos of an institution recognized as one of England’s top schools.”
Hani Raydan, GM bloom Ventures, said Brighton College was one of the few elite schools in the UK that not only kept its strong British Heritage and past success alive, it also continued to outperform competition until this day.
“With Brighton College on board, Bloom Education will set a solid benchmark in education, raising the standards of teaching and learning within the region. We would offer our future students the opportunity to maximize their overall potentials, and encourage them to embrace the UAE cultural heritage and values while respecting other cultures," he added.
“This joint venture announcement further solidifies bloom’s testament and commitment to Abu Dhabi. Bloom will be developing the education institution in Abu Dhabi providing a state-of-the-art facility for young minds to learn and grow,” Dr. Shammah added.
Richard Cairns, headmaster of Brighton College and “One of England’s Leading Schools” (The London Times), welcomed the expansion, saying, "We are immensely proud to be establishing our new campus abroad. We look forward to working with Bloom Education to build a dynamic and successful institution which will live up to the outstanding academic and pastoral standards of its parent school."
"This exciting venture, the first of its kind to be undertaken in Abu Dhabi, will further enhance the international reputation of Brighton College," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
