Elite Program begins Singapore study tour
Dubai, February 2, 2009
The Elite Program, a specialised program managed by Mohammed Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development (MBRPLD), has commenced the Dubai Opening Study Visit Program (DO) in Singapore.
The overseas study tour from February 2 to 6, will focus on the topical theme of 'Managing Global Cities'.
The Singapore visit will involve a series of lectures featuring senior government and business leaders of Singapore and site tours that will enable Elite Program participants to grasp some of the critical elements that have contributed to Singapore's success.
The DO program revolves around three key themes that have been deemed critical for public sector leaders to succeed in managing global cities such as Dubai: governance and national competitiveness; sustainable urban development; and strategic and economical outlook.
The experience and knowledge acquired from the study tour will be used by the program participants to develop customised strategies that are beneficial to Dubai and complementary to the Dubai Strategic Plan.
'Singapore represents a city which is renowned not only for its strong economy, but also for having a highly disciplined society,' said Adel Al Shared, CEO, Elite Program.
The inaugural day of the Singapore study tour provides participants an overview of Singapore's success story followed by an in-depth analysis of the Asian financial outlook. Panel discussions will conclude the opening day of the study visit wherein high-profile speakers will engage participants in an exclusive dialogue with the topic 'China & India, Economics and Geopolitics'.
The Elite Program has been established to identify and prepare promising young UAE nationals to be future leaders capable of managing the strategic initiatives of the local and federal governments. The DO program is part of several modules specially developed for the Elite Program participants.-TradeArabia News Service
