Students are flocking to French Fashion University Esmod as the 2009-2010 academic year gets under way on January 21.

About 100 students have registered at the university both for the BA Degree three years programme and available workshops and courses.

"This year promises to be an excellent year since enrolment has been very high and on par with previous years.  The university has been a leading name in the international fashion industry for more than 160 years and has influenced French fashion throughout the world,” said Tamara Hostal.

“As the only fashion university in the Middle East, we are constantly expanding our programmes to keep up with new trends and preferences. The courses we have lined up for the new academic year has been carefully selected to reflect high-growth areas in the fashion industry, providing our students with optimum career prospects after graduation.”
 
Since Esmod's Middle East campus was opened in 2006, the university's fashion programmes have attracted a significant number of designers-in-training. At present, the university has 60 students from over 15 countries.

Esmod's students have won several major industry distinctions, including the Swarovski Young Designer of the Year Award and the Swarovski Innovation Award. The University's centrepiece BA Degree and Diploma in Fashion Design and Pattern Drafting, as well as the new make-up workshop, are accredited by the French Ministry of Education. – TradeArabia News Service
