Dubai Investment trains UAE nationals
Dubai, April 20, 2008
Dubai Investment Group is planning to expand its internship programme by offering workplace training in its offices in Dubai, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
The move is part of Dubai Investment Group’s drive to promote careers in international finance for UAE Nationals, the company said in a statement.
Earlier, Dubai Investment Group has sponsored UAE nationals to attend pre-paid summer courses in finance at the American University in Dubai. Last year, three UAE nationals - Faheema Jasim Al Marzouqi, Eman Al Nuaimi and Muna Al Shaibani- were selected as part of the study programme.
This year, the internship programme has been moved in house in order to better capitalise on the learning opportunities presented by the Group’s team of seasoned professionals in the capital markets, real estate and industrial sectors, the company said.
“Our long-term vision is not just to maintain a high ratio of Emirati employment, but also to equip them with the required expertise to perform well in a global environment as the UAE’s finest representatives of professional calibre and competency,” said Dubai Investment Group chief executive officer Abdulhakeem Kamkar.
“We provide promising Emiratis with an opportunity to gain an enhanced understanding of our operations at a global level. This is achieved through their participation in customised work placement programmes at our offices in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong,” he said. – TradeArabia News Service
