Tanmia signs MoU with EIDA

Dubai, April 14, 2008

Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) to provide manpower support required to efficiently carryout the registration process in all EIDA registration centers and mobile registration vehicles.

EIDA is the independent federal authority that is solely responsible for the execution of the Population Register Project and the new identity card system.

According to the terms of the MoU signed between acting general manager, Tanmia, Feddah Lootah and general director of the EIDA Darwish Al Zaraouni, the EIDA will inform Tanmia about the number of personnel it will require for the registration process, along with the expected criterion the candidates need to possess.

Tanmia will then provide EIDA with the details of the UAE National candidates registered in its database who best meet the requirements for the job.

Tanmia also announced that 83 UAE National jobseekers have already cleared the interview conducted by EIDA following the signing of the MoU, and these candidates will work in EIDA’s offices in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Al Ain and Al Thaid.

“This MoU is a mutually beneficial agreement that will provide employment to numerous UAE Nationals, while helping EIDA to efficiently complete the process of registration,” said Lootah.

“We believe that this MoU will create a symbiotic partnership between EIDA and Tanmia, which will help us achieve our respective objectives faster. By partnering with Tanmia we will be able to find the right candidates required to support us in the registration process, while being able to provide jobs for a large number of UAE National jobseekers,” said Al Zaraouni.

As per the MoU, to be eligible to work with the EIDA, the UAE National candidates should have completed high school; should have basic knowledge of computers; should possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

According to the EIDA, registration for expatriate employees in the government sector and large companies has recently commenced, while the registration for all expatriates will open in May 2008.

The identity card issued by EIDA enables holders to use it as a travel document to all GCC countries, as it works as an e-passport. It will eventually replace driving licences, and labour, residency and health cards.

Moreover, it will act as an ATM card, while the E-gate and E-Dirham facilities will also be integrated onto the cards. – TradeArabia News Service
