GulfTalent.com launches Facebook Platform
San Francisco, October 21, 2007
GulfTalent.com, the Middle East’s leading online recruitment firm, has launched its online job search application on Facebook Platform.
The move enables over 42 million Facebook users worldwide to view, search, recommend or apply for job opportunities with employers in the Gulf and throughout the Arab world.
“The Gulf region relies heavily on international talent, with over 50 per cent of its current workforce consisting of expatriates. The launch of this job search application on the Facebook Platform will bring the region into closer contact with the professional community worldwide,” said GulfTalent.com managing director Yasser Hatami speaking on the sidelines of the Web 2.0 Summit, the annual gathering of global technology leaders in San Francisco.
Facebook offers an efficient way for people to stay connected with their friends and others who live, work or study around them. The California-based company recently launched Facebook Platform, a development platform that enables companies and engineers to integrate with Facebook and gain access to millions of users.
While the vast majority of Facebook users reside outside the Middle East, the site also enjoys a significant following within the region – including among both nationals as well as expatriates.
Based on data from Alexa, the web information company, Facebook ranks among the top ten most popular sites in most Arab countries. In some countries, such as Lebanon, the site has reached the number one position, ahead of Google, the world’s most popular search engine.
GulfTalent.com is the first Middle Eastern business to launch an application on Facebook Platform and the first jobsite outside Europe and North America to do so.
Headquartered in Dubai, GulfTalent.com is the Middle East’s leading internet recruitment portal for experienced professionals, covering Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and the UAE.
