Bahrain plans SME support centre

Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and Family Bank have teamed up to set up a centre aimed at supporting and developing small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

BCCI chairman Dr Essam Fakhro yesterday (May 23) signed a memorandum of understanding to set up the BCCI-SMEs Support Centre with Family Bank chairperson Dr Fatima Al Balooshi.

Dr Fakhro stressed the importance of the deal in promoting SMEs and enhancing their competitiveness.

He also underscored the vital role of the Family Bank in micro-financing crucial projects.

The centre will provide training aimed at boosting productivity of SMEs.

It will also serve as a hub to provide trade data, through an e-company guide, promote exports, explore investment opportunities and help SMEs face challenges. – TradeArabia News Service
