Manama, October 19, 2011
Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) played a major role as a sponsor at the one-day 'Invest in Bahrain' forum held at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre on Wednesday.
The event, the sixth in a series of investment forums, was organised by the Ministry of Industry & Commerce under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
The forum was also backed by Tamkeen, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Central Bank of Bahrain, the Economic Development Board Bahrain, and the Federation of GCC Chambers.
'Invest in Bahrain' forum showcased the Kingdom's attractiveness as an economic destination for international investors, said Alba chairman Mahmood Hashim Al Kooheji.
'Alba' sponsorship of the forum is an endorsement of the company’s confidence in Bahrain as an attractive economic destination for international investors,' he noted.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Al Kooheji said, 'Alba’s forty-year legacy as one of the world’s leading aluminium smelters has been made possible thanks to the forward thinking and investor friendly economic policies in the Kingdom as well as through the guidance of its political leadership in developing a strong and modern industrial state.'
'Alba’s support for the forum stems from our own experience in having grown from being the first aluminium smelter in the region to the company’s current position as the fourth largest single site smelter in the world,” he noted.
The Invest in Bahrain forum included keynote addresses from leading dignitaries from the government, business and the financial sector. It also showcased key incentives provided to investors in setting up a base in Bahrain.-TradeArabia News Service
