Bahrain seeks key push at China fair

Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) delegation visited the 106th China's Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) in Guangzhou to get more insight into the services and products offered by Chinese companies and industries.
BCCI chairman Dr Essam Fakhro said the visit was to explore the possibility of participating in the next fair which will be held in April 2011 to highlight Bahraini industries and products to reflect its export potential.
The delegation also got a chance to investigate the possibility of establishing business partnerships and developing their businesses with China firms.
The visit also aimed to promote and develop co-operation and trade exchange between Bahrain and China and establish channels of communication between the business and investment sectors in both countries.
The Canton Fair, under the patronage of the Ministry of Commerce of China and Guangzhou province, is one of the oldest fairs in Asia, starting in 1957. The fair is held twice a year.
Bilateral meetings were also held with exhibitors and representatives of industrial and commercial enterprises in Guangzhou.
Economic relations between Bahrain and the Cantonese district was discussed as well as possibility of developing co-operation.
The meetings also focused on a MoU signed between the BCCI and Chinese firms, which focuses on the exchange of expertise and successful experiences in support of economic projects, especially in small-and-medium businesses to create a more competitive business environment and create new job opportunities.
The delegation also visited a number of companies which have dealings with GCC countries.-TradeArabia News Service
