Sharjah, August 25, 2010
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with FedEx, one of the largest logistics services company, to provide special courier services to its members.
Under the terms of the agreement, FedEx will provide the SCCI with key document and package transportation services - with packages and documents picked up from the SCCI headquarters and delivered to any point within FedEx’s coverage area.
The move demonstrates the SCCI’s strong commitment to provide special value-added services and benefits that can help members in their efforts to improve and enhance their businesses, said a statement from SCCI.
The agreement was signed by Khaled Bin Butti Bin Obaid, assistant director general for membership and branch affairs, SCCI and Hamdi Osman, senior vice president operations (Middle East, Indian subcontinent, Africa and GSP markets).
Also present to witness the signing were Ahmad Saleh Al Ajlah, assistant director, Sharjah International Commercial Arbitration Centre; Mohammed Obeid Ailan, Origin Official; and representatives from both FedEx and the SCCI.
'Our new partnership with FedEx is part of the SCCI’s Membership Management Plan, a strategic initiative that is aimed at providing our members with world class services that can help them in their efforts to increase and improve efficiencies, productivity and profit,' said Bin Obaid.
FedEx said it will work closely with the SCCI’s membership department; allowing the chamber’s members and their clients to benefit from the company’s shipping, tracking, customized reports and e-billing services.-TradeArabia News Service
