Landmark deal for trade

Manama, August 26, 2007

Investors in Bahrain are being wooed by the buy-to-let market in the UK.

Bahrain-based Landmark Properties and UK realtor Vista Investment Properties (VIP) have joined forces, in an agreement announced at a product launch seminar at Crowne Plaza Hotel.

The agreement was signed at the event by Landmark managing director Mohammed Khalil Chaudhary and VIP international sales head Brian Cosgrave.

Landmark Properties will offer a range of UK and internationally-located properties as VIP's sole agent of Vista in the region.

VIP is a wholly owned subsidiary of UK property giant Instant Access Properties - a firm with a list of more than 7,000 members, who between them have purchased £2.3 billion (BD1.7 billion) worth of property to date.

'We need to educate people about how the property market works in the UK,' said Cosgrave.

'It will help people achieve their financial goals through property investment.

'Property in the UK is performing very well and there has been 40 to 50 years of continued growth, with forecasts showing this is going to continue.

'There are property hot-spots around the world - but none with the track record of the UK.'

VIP's appointment of Landmark Properties as its sales and marketing agent for the Middle East is the first part of VIP's planned expansion across the region, he said.
