"Rising Bahrain' offers key tips
Manama, June 21, 2007
A new magazine is being launched in Bahrain to coincide with the presentation of a UN award to Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
The investment guide 'Rising Bahrain' is an economic introduction to the country. It will include sector analysis and corporate profiles of the major players in the industry.
It hopes to bring in more foreign investment in Bahrain from the US and the Gulf, where the guide will be distributed.
The free magazine, in English, is aimed at investors and international businessmen who want to explore Bahrain's opportunities.
It will be part of the Wall Street Market Research's Rising series of publications across the Gulf and will be bi-annual.
Several local organisations and firms are sponsoring the initiative, including Civil Aviation Authority, Riffa Views, Ithmaar Development Company, Health Ministry, InterContinental Regency Bahrain, the Mercure Hotel, Bahrain Financial Harbour, Batelco, Gulf Holding Company and National Rent a Car.
The Gulf Daily News had announced in March that the Premier was to be honoured with a top UN award for his work for the poor.
He was chosen by a UN Habitat jury for 2006 Special Citation of the Habitat Scroll of Honour Award for his 'impressive efforts in lifting the living standards of all Bahrainis through an active focus on poverty alleviation and modernisation, while preserving the cultural heritage' of Bahrain.
