Al Bahar hosts Caterpillar Global Dealer Technician Challenge

SHARJAH, 23 days ago

Al Bahar, the authorised dealer of Caterpillar products and services across the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar, said it has successfully concluded its entry-level Internal Challenge, a subset of the Global Dealer Technician Challenge (GDTC) hosted by Caterpillar, titled “Heroes of the Trade.”

The gruelling competition, held over four days at Al Bahar’s Regional Training Center in Sharjah, UAE, pushed the limits of four exceptional technicians, ultimately crowning two champions who will represent the dealership at the upcoming Regional Qualifiers in Dubai this November.

The contest tested the technicians’ skills across a wide range of areas, including machine diagnostics, practical service applications, and a deep understanding of aftermarket support offerings, said the statement from Al Bahar.

The internal challenges, which were conducted from June 24 to 28, concluded with a celebratory award ceremony held recently to honour the exceptional achievements of all four participating technicians.

It provided a platform to acknowledge their dedication, and hard work, throughout the challenge, it added.

"At Al Bahar, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of excellence within our service network, as our technicians are our main advantage serving our customers better," said Ibrahim Elaian, the Vice President of Service.

"The Global Dealer Technician Challenge provided a phenomenal platform for our technicians to showcase their expertise, dedication, and commitment to continuous learning. We are incredibly proud of all participants, and we’re confident that our champions will shine brightly at the regional level," he noted.

Bilson Poulose, one of the winning technicians, said: "The GDTC was an incredibly rewarding experience. It challenged me to push my boundaries and apply my knowledge in real-world scenarios. I’m excited to represent Al Bahar at the Regional Qualifiers and compete against the best from across the region."

Hamza Sobeih, the other champion, echoed this sentiment, stating: "This competition has been a fantastic opportunity to learn from experienced mentors and fellow participants. I’m grateful for the support of Al Bahar and I’m eager to showcase my skills in upcoming qualifiers."

To prepare for the qualifiers, the winning technicians were assigned a mentor – Waqar Khan, Service Training Instructor at Al Bahar.

Commenting on the challenges and the technician performances he said: "The growth and development we witnessed in these technicians throughout the competition has been truly remarkable. This challenge has not only tested their technical skills but also their problem-solving abilities and teamwork."

"The reward is a well-deserved recognition of their efforts, and I have full confidence that with continued training, they will be formidable competitors at the Regional Qualifiers, Semifinals and further proceed to the Final Global Challenge in Las Vegas – USA," he added.

Al Bahar’s winning technicians will now undergo intensive training to prepare them for the Regional Qualifiers taking place in Dubai this November, said Khan.

"The goal is to secure a coveted spot at the Global Finals and be crowned the world’s “Top Technician,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
