Saudi group Wetico lands key Algerian desal plants contract

Wetico, a leading Saudi integrated solutions provider in water and wastewater sector, has announced that it has secured contracts for two seawater desalination plants in the Algerian cities of El Taref and Bejaia, each with a 300,000-cu-m-per-day capacity. 
 
The scope of work includes provision of design, engineering and procurement services as well as supervision of construction, testing and commissioning, said Wetico in its LinkedIn notification.  
 
The contract also includes three years of operation and maintenance assistance, it stated.
 
The deal was inked with Algerian groups - Société Algérienne de Réalisation de Projets Industriels (SARPI) and Entreprise Nationale de Canalisations (ENAC).  
 
These projects, entrusted by the Algerian oil giant Sonatrach Group, will be coming up in the El Taref province and the Mediterranean port city of Bejaia, stated the notification.
 
It comes as part of Algeria Desalination Programme which provides investment in the construction of five new seawater desalination plants each with a 300,000 cu m per day capacity, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
