Azizi ramps up efforts towards greener, more sustainable future

DUBAI, June 3, 2021

Azizi Developments, a leading private developer in the UAE, said it has ramped up its efforts towards a greener and more sustainable future.

The developer already uses sustainable practices in its everyday operations, including power improvement capacitor bank panels - in line with Dewa requirements - and separate meters for the measurement of electricity in specific areas or individual items of equipment.

Azizi said it only uses LED lighting fixtures and individual bulbs, which are up to 80 per cent more efficient than traditional lighting, such as fluorescent and incandescent lights.

These lights also last up to six times more than other types of lights and are extremely environmentally friendly with no toxic element dissemination associated to them.

Chief Development Officer Mohamed Ragheb Hussein said: "In line with the UAE Strategy 2050 that aims to increase the contribution of clean energy in the total energy mix to 50%, balance the supply and demand, and ensure a conducive economic environment for growth across sectors, we strive to create an exemplary, sustainable development model through our projects, from conception to construction."

"As one of the leading developers in the emirate, it is our duty and part of our yielding mission to ensure that our developments reflect the latest global sustainable trends and complement the nation’s effort," he noted.

"At Azizi Developments, lighting control systems include motion sensors for all common areas, such as corridors and lobbies, where reduced lighting levels are set at no more than 25 per cent of the normal when unoccupied," stated Hussein.

"Moreover, kitchen appliances across the projects are selected with higher energy-star ratings in compliance with sustainability requirements," he added.
