Iran signs up Swiss group to build railway tracks

TEHRAN, June 26, 2018

Iranian government has signed a one-year agreement with leading Swiss group Matisa Matériel Industriel to help boost their co-operation on construction of railway tracks and maintenance of equipment, said a report.

As per the deal, the Swiss company will help Iran renew tracks and carry out essential maintenance work on its equipment, according to Trend News Agency.

Based on the terms of the initial agreement, Matisa will set up a training centre in Iran to help design, manufacture and renew rail tracks and provide maintenance work.

Some six to nine ballast tampers and ballast regulators, 21 linear machinery and 2 ballast-cleaning machines will be also reconstructed by the Swiss firm, it added.
