DUBAI, May 24, 2018
MaK Middle East, a Caterpillar company established in 2017, recently announced its offering of a comprehensive range of turbocharger maintenance, overhaul, repair, upgrading and modification service options from its well-equipped workshop at Dubai Maritime City.
These services are delivered by a turbocharger service team well experienced in servicing turbochargers from several different manufacturers.
MaK turbocharger service engineers and technicians are trained and certified at the Napier factory in Lincoln in the UK and the KBB factory in Bannewitz, Germany.
Similar to the MaK Asia-owned workshops in Singapore, Shanghai and Guangzhou, MaK Middle East is also able to provide turbocharger services on board a vessel including basic inspection and removal and installation for workshop overhaul or cartridge replacement, said a statement from the company.
Alan Naisby, the managing director of MaK (Middle East and Asia), said: "To better support our customers in the region, MaK Middle East has made significant investments in a comprehensive inventory of service exchange units including Napier NA297 and NA357 for MaK M32 engines and KBB HPR6000 for MaK M25 and M20 engines as well as Napier and KBB spare parts plus new cartridges for MaK, Wartsila, Yanmar, Himsen and other applications, all available from our Dubai Maritime City facility."
"A well-maintained turbocharger is a pre-requisite for optimal engine performance and for maximum fuel efficiency and prevents unexpected operational expenses. Our qualified service support keeps our customers’ turbochargers running efficiently," he added.
Naisby said:"We promise our clients highest quality genuine OEM parts and service levels from our state-of-the-art workshop in Dubai that is equipped with top-quality machines. We have invested a total of Dh1.5 million in our turbocharger service capabilities including rotor balancing machine, scissor lifting tables, fixtures, tools, inventory and experienced technicians and engineers."
"The service team has Saudi Arabian visas and we have put in place logistics support for exchange units with KSA and other countries in the region. These are the main pillars of our offering to guarantee customer satisfaction and and speed of turnaround," he added.
According to him, the MaK workshop in Dubai Maritime City also provides product support services in the Middle East region for Caterpillar’s MaK, CM and EMD-branded medium speed engines.
The new workshop caters to customer needs for high quality factory after-sales support in the region.
"MaK Middle East is the only factory authorized distribution operation for MaK, CM and EMD brands in the ten Middle Eastern countries of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
