ABU DHABI, April 6, 2018
Imkan, a globally-reputed property developer renowned for creating soulful places that enrich lives, will showcase a number of its projects, including Makers District - its waterfront development - at Cityscape Abu Dhabi.
Imkan will also unveil state-of-the-art models of its other domestic and international projects including Sheikh Fatima Park in Abu Dhabi, Al Burouj in Cairo, Carmine in Marrakech and a high-profile mixed use project in Rabat.
The event, running from April 17 to 19, will also be an opportunity for the global developer to highlight its research and development platform through the Imkan Box, a research lab, atelier, and creative studio that brings its upcoming projects to life through cutting-edge technology, research and design. The “box,” which represents a meeting of minds, is emblematic of the multi-disciplinary approach that propels Imkan’s innovation and growth.
Its pioneering project in Abu Dhabi and located across from Saadiyat Island, Makers District will underscore the company’s innovative and research-oriented approach to architecture and community-building. In a first for the UAE, the residential, commercial, hospitality and retail offering marries the capital’s culture with contemporary inspiration, creating a destination that cultivates creativity whilst enriching lives.
The initial phase of Makers District on Reem Island will soon be an unparalleled urban neighbourhood for the millennial mindset and change-makers. The first residential mixed-use community, comprising of seven towers, “Pixel” will have a built-up area of 85,000 sq m and offer 525 residential units. Other components include The-Artery, a hybrid parking garage and events space designed to evoke pure creative ability. Once complete, it will offer makers a place to both create and showcase their work.
Imkan CEO, Walid El Hindi said: “Cityscape Abu Dhabi is a strong platform for us to solidify our position as forward-thinking place-makers who transform the fabric of communities. This transformation is only possible when we understand the insights that reveal what best enables people to enrich, collaborate and engage as part of a vibrant community. And we have no doubt that Makers District will introduce a real soulfulness to this already dynamic emirate, and further elevate the architectural landscape of Abu Dhabi.”
Makers District’s commitment to organically nurturing home-grown makers and creators will be highlighted through Imkan’s partnership with artisans, who will offer handmade food products at this year’s event. – TradeArabia News Service
