Designs for new Muharraq bridge 'nearly complete'

MANAMA, March 24, 2018

Designs for a new 150-m bridge connecting Busaiteen and Manama are expected to be ready by next month, said a report.

Plans for the BD94-million ($248.5 million) project were detailed in a statement to parliament from Minister Essam Khalaf, a report in Gulf Daily News said.

The bridge will be 90 m above sea level and will have five lanes in both directions, the report said quoting Khalaf.

The design will be completed by April 13, it said.

Other projects in the design phase include expansions and upgrades of several roads and intersections in Jasra, Budaiya, Janabiya, Arad and other areas.
