Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the Bahrain-based aluminium smelter, has appointed Hussain Faqihi as its new manager for casthouse operations.

Faqihi joined Alba in 1996 as trainee supervisor in casthouse operations where he was promoted to supervisor in 1997, superintendent in 2002 and senior superintendent in 2005, said a statement.

He has a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering degree from University of Bahrain and an MBA from the French Arabian Business School/ESSEC.

Alba’s chief executive officer Tim Murray said: “Faqihi’s promotion is in line with our strategy to promote employees from within the company, and to train and develop Bahrainis to prepare them for taking on leadership positions.”

“I am confident that Faqihi, through his experience of more than 20 years in casthouse and metallurgy operations, will be a valuable asset to the success of the department,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
