American Concrete Institute launches new site
MICHIGAN, February 26, 2018
The American Concrete Institute (ACI) has launched concrete.org/MiddleEast – a website designed specifically for concrete professionals in the Middle East region.
ACI is a leading authority and resource worldwide for the development and distribution of consensus-based standards and technical resources, educational programmes and certifications for individuals and organizations involved in concrete design, construction and materials, who share a commitment to pursuing the best use of concrete.
The new website features Middle East regional events, news, training opportunities, and chapters. The website also features a built-in translator.
“The site provides ACI the opportunity to deliver industry-leading technical resources to the concrete community in the Middle East,” remarked Ronald G Burg, the executive vice-president.
“Additionally, the Institute will use the site as a portal to connect with professionals and learn from the tremendous innovation in concrete materials, design, and construction taking place in the region,” he noted.
The rapid construction growth in the Gulf region has led to an increase in the use of ACI 318 and acknowledgement that “ACI 318: Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete” is one of the most essential and valuable standards with respect to the design of reinforced concrete structures, he added.
Leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council Standardization Organization recently entered into an agreement with the ACI to cooperate towards a better understanding and use of concrete and cementitious materials in civil infrastructure.
ACI is also a key partner for the upcoming Big 5 Heavy expo in Dubai, UAE, where it will host the ACI Concrete Essentials Seminar Series from March 26 to 27.-TradeArabia News Service
