Bahrain Investment Wharf to launch new app

MANAMA, February 7, 2018

In a bid to attract potential investors to its 1.7-million-sq-m model industrial city ideally located in the heart of Salman Industrial Area, Bahrain Investment Wharf (BIW) is all set to launch a mobile application on Android and iOS platforms by the end of this month.

According to BIW director of technical Affairs Abdulla Jamal Alabbasi, the user-friendly app will enable a user to view the entire industrial city in three dimension.

The app – currently under development – will also provide complete information about the facilities provided at the industrial destination.

BIW is the brainchild of Inovest Group’s real estate arm Tameer. The industrial area was developed to contribute to the kingdom’s industrial growth by acting as a magnet to attract both local and foreign direct investment looking for facilities to enhance their global business development strategies.

The first privately owned and managed industrial investment park in Bahrain offers 163 pre-serviced plots for industrial, logistic, commercial and labour accommodation use, to support manufacturing and industrial business activities in the kingdom. According to Alabbasi, all the 163 plots are fully sold out.

In terms of occupancy, 70 per cent of the city is developed while 30 per cent is still vacant.

The industrial city, which boasts global standard facilities, also has state-of-the-art infrastructure in place and access to key national transportation routes.

“Our focus is on embracing a greater commitment to supporting the kingdom’s start-ups and SMEs (small and medium enterprises), and better facilitation of industry-based business requirements. We aim to empower the national economy through our facilities, to be an engine for growth, diversity, and prosperity,” he said.

“Through our participation in the GIF, we aim to highlight our recent rebranding initiative, as well as our focus on stronger business-government exchanges,” he added.
