Korea's Samsung Engineering said it has secured a major contract from Jubail United Petrochemical Company (United), an affiliate of Saudi petrochemical giant Sabic for a $700-million ethylene oxide–ethylene glycol (EO/EG) plant in the kingdom.

The project, which will produce 700,000 MTPA (million tonnes per annum) MEG, will be executed in Jubail Industrial City located in the east of Saudi Arabia, 100 km north of Dammam. The construction work is due to be completed in 2020.

Samsung Engineering is the one of top EG plant builders globally, with the company delivering a total of 16 plants.
