City Centre Ajman opens new modern retail wing

AJMAN, December 18, 2017

City Centre Ajman, a leading retail destination in the norther emirates, is taking the shopping experience to the next level as it launches a new wing with top global brands and restaurants that make their debut in the emirate.

Majid Al Futtaim, a leading retail and leisure pioneer in the region, said the opening of the new wing reiterates its promise to bring an unparalleled shopping and entertainment experience to the Northern Emirates and its strategy to increase total investment in the UAE by Dh30 billion by 2026.

The mall will continue to transform with many more new stores and restaurants opening in 2018 that will offer great moments for everyone, every day.

The mall has grown from 29,000 to 55,672 sq m in size as part of the ongoing redevelopment, said a statement from Majid Al Futtaim.

The modern design of the extended wing with a skylight roof allowing natural light to stream into the mall during the day and the contrast lighting levels in the stores and new central galleria create a warm and inviting atmosphere for the visitors, it stated.

Construction has been carried out in line with green building best practice and Majid Al Futtaim’s sustainability strategy. Innovative and energy-efficient design and procedures, including installing LED lighting and water-saving, low-flow faucets and fixtures will reduce the mall’s carbon footprint, it added.

City Centre Ajman is addressing the changing expectations of its stylish customers by bringing 79 international fashion and lifestyle stores, and an al fresco dining experience as part of the expansion.

US-based family restaurant Pizza Express and Mado Cafe, which is known for its comforting Turkish fare, make their foray into Ajman with an indoor and outdoor dining area at City Centre Ajman.

Lifestyle brands including, Lush, MAC Cosmetics and Damas are also scheduled to open at the mall in the coming months.

“Since its launch in 1998, City Centre Ajman has continued to evolve and grow. The expansion cements the mall’s status as a regional shopping destination in the emirate,” remarked Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, the managing director for Majid Al Futtaim Properties, Shopping Malls (UAE, Bahrain and Oman).

Taking customer feedback into consideration, the mall has boosted parking capacity from 750 to 1,800 – as part of the first phase of its Dh650 million enhancement project.

Keeping convenience and accessibility at the forefront of its upgrades, the mall has also added new toilets, baby changing rooms and prayer facilities, as well as a bigger Magic Planet entertainment centre in the new wing.

"We have upgraded this community-centered mall to an all-round shopping, dining and leisure destination with far-reaching appeal in the region, boosting the emirate’s retail economy," remarked Sharaf.

"These improvements have also been undertaken to meet the changing expectations of our customers, who not only turn to us for all the best international brands under one roof but see City Centre Ajman as a destination where they can gather and create great moments with family and friends. The new wing, with its modern architecture, bigger stores and al fresco dining options, will offer a truly holistic experience to visitors," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
