Big 5 North Africa to draw 4,000 building industry experts

DUBAI, December 7, 2017

More than 4,000 construction industry professionals including architects, contractors and developers are expected to take part in the second edition of The Big 5 Construct North Africa which kicks off in Morocco next year.

Following the huge success of its debut edition in 2017, the expo, which is part of The Big 5 portfolio of construction events, will be back at the Parc des Expositions de L’Office des Changes in Casablanca, said the organisers, dmg events Middle East, Asia & Africa.

Running from April 10 to 12, the second edition of the event will feature five exhibitions under one roof, thanks to the new dedicated product sectors.

Almost 3,000 Moroccan construction professionals visited the launch event earlier this year, sourcing innovative construction products from over 170 exhibiting companies.

It also offered 24 hours of networking opportunities, more than 200 meetings as part of its global meetings program, and 11 free to attend and CPD-certified educational workshops to more than 670 Moroccan industry professionals in 2017.

For its second edition in Casablanca, The Big 5 Construct North Africa 2018 will bring even more international suppliers, featuring thousands of innovative solutions and products for the Moroccan and North African construction industry, said the organisers.

“Moroccan architects, contractors, developers, engineers and interior designers will be able to source reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable products from around the world for their projects,” remarked the event director Muhammed Kazi.

"We expect Moroccan distributors to greatly benefit from the event, where they will be able to establish profitable business relations with renowned manufacturers. Overall, The Big 5 Construct North Africa will effectively contribute to the development of the Moroccan economy, infusing into the local construction sector the best and most advanced technological solutions from around the globe," he added.

Dubai Exports’ Muhamed Almheiri, who was at the debut expo, stated that The Big 5 Construct North Africa was indeed an excellent opportunity for building mutually beneficial business relations.

"We received leads amounting to around 130 million Moroccan Dirham and actual deals of approximately MAD9 million following the exhibition in Casablanca.

According to Kazi, for the first time, The Big 5 Construct North Africa 2018 will feature five events under one roof.

"Moroccan and North African construction professionals will be able to find easily what they look for thanks to the newly introduced five dedicated product sectors: Building Interiors, Building Materials & Tools, MEP Services, Concrete & PMV, and Windows, Doors & Facades," he added.

Abdulmajid Karanouh, the director and head of Innovation Design, Facades & Sustainability at Ramboll, who delivered a presentation at The Big 5 Construct North Africa 2017, said: "The Big 5 has always been one of the building industry’s top events in the Middle East where stakeholders of all backgrounds and specialties gather from all over the world to network and exchange knowledge."

The upcoming event will also bring back its outstanding complimentary educational offer, which proved extremely successful on the launch edition.-TradeArabia News Service
