Bahrain to revamp Umm Al Hassam Harbour

Bahrain’s Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has announced plans to revamp the Umm Al Hassam harbour.
This follows directives from His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Khalifa Al Khalifa to accommodate people’s needs in a number of areas in the kingdom, and as a follow-up to Minister Engineer Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf’s last visit to the harbour, a statement said.
Works Affairs Undersecretary Engineer Ahmed Al Khayyat toured the harbour, accompanied by strategic projects director Engineer Mishal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, roads projects and maintenance director Engineer Sayyed Bader Alawi and the acting director of fisheries Bassam Al Showaikh.
According to Al Khayyat, the project will increase the harbour's capacity, improve the available services and facilities, revamp the road leading to the harbour. The ministry will also look into the possibility of providing a glide for the boats and water and electricity connections. -TradeArabia News Service
