Spirit for Antiques & Handicrafts to open at Bahrain City Centre

MANAMA, April 25, 2017

Spirit for Antiques & Handicrafts, a newly established Bahrain-based company that sells a unique range of premium and exclusively selected artifacts, antiques and authentic furniture pieces, will open its second outlet in the kingdom next month.

The company, in a bid to make its products more accessible to a wider target audience, is opening a kiosk in the busy Bahrain City Centre (BCC), according to founder Khalid Al Tahmazi.

Spirit for Antiques & Handicrafts is showcasing its products at the Gulf Interiors exhibition, which opened in Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre today,

The firm’s first store is located on the second floor of Enma Mall where it showcases a wide collection of traditional art and original handicrafts.

Each item in the collection, says Al Tahmazi, is handmade by authentic artists from across the world using 100 per cent natural materials, and are handpicked by him and his team from various countries including Africa and Indonesia.

“Our products are one-of-a-kind, and not produced in mass,” he says, adding that every piece is crafted with passion and holds a high value of beauty, with a natural and fine finish.
Some of the unique products being displayed at the exhibition include:

•    A beautifully carved wooden mermaid standing tall at 210 cm. It is made out of a single piece of Suar wood and is sourced from Bali in Indonesia.
•    A unique coffee table made of natural teak root with a natural finish and a glass top, showcasing how authentic, antique pieces can add contrast and blend beautifully with modern interiors.
•    A Timor-style antique door panel made of Mahogany wood with authentic wood carvings is a huge draw.

Some other products include natural wooden carvings depicting various animals, including a huge two-metre wood carved statue of a horse and a lion bust. Hand carved masks and other figurines with brightly mixed colours are some other attractive items displayed at the stall.

Visitors to the show are being offered a 15 per cent discount on the items.

Participating in the exhibition for the second year in a row, Al Tahmazi says it’s a good opportunity for the company to showcase its products.
