Nakheel launches tender for UAE mall expansion
DUBAI, December 22, 2016
Leading regional developer Nakheel has launched a tender for the expansion of Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai, UAE.
The scope of work includes the construction of a new movie complex to the south-west of the existing Ibn Battuta Mall over a 65,950-sq-m area with a multi-level parking structure.
The cinema building has an area of 10,490 sq m and features a ground, first and second level as well as an attic floor. The multi-level parking structure features a ground floor and three upper levels as well as rooftop parking, and will provide parking space for approximately 1,376 cars.
The last date for submitting the tender documents is January 18.
Nakheel had last month opened a new link connecting Ibn Battuta Mall with the Dubai Metro, marking the completion of a Dh135-million ($37 million) expansion at the world’s largest themed shopping mall.
The Mall-Metro link is the second element of its Ibn Battuta Phase One expansion, which also includes a 300,000-sq-ft extension to the mall that officially opened earlier this year, said Nakheel in its statement.
A second, 4.7-million sq ft expansion, is presently under way, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
