Bahrain to build five mega housing developments

Bahrain's Ministry of Housing has unveiled an ambitious blueprint that will see the construction of five mega residential projects across the kingdom featuring 65,000 homes, said a report.
The key developments include the Northern Town, East Hidd Town, the Southern Town and Al Ramli housing scheme, reported The BNA.
The ministry today (October 31) outlined a comprehensive strategy, in the presence of Housing Minister Basem bin Yacoub Al Hamer and other senior ministry officials.
The session included a detailed presentation on the project. It also shed light on the planned five residential towns as well as that the land allocated for the housing units, public amenities, mosques, public parks and other facilities, said the report.
Under this scheme, a total of 40,000 units will be built in these new towns along with 25,000 additional units under the Government Action Programme (GAP).
Al Hamer was later briefed about the proposals which were submitted by relevant government departments, it added.
